So much for letting you guys following along in my pregnancy huh?
I've been slacking! Well now that I'm half way I thought I'd do a little
update for you.
We're should I start? How about with
the bad! Ok ok don't worry there really isn't anything terrible. It's
just all those things that come along with pregnancy that you either
didn't know about or thought you were going to magically escape.
It
all started with morning sickness. I didn't have terrible morning
sickness i.e. no throwing up but there were days that I felt miserable
all day long. I even would go lay in the back of my truck at lunch when I
was at work. I might have felt better with I would have thrown up, but
I'm just not one to do that. I figured out if I skipped the gym in the
morning it wasn't quite as bad so I switched to going at night for a
while. I also came to the realization that I felt better if I didn't
have an empty stomach. Guess what came next? Weight gain! Woohoo. Let's
just say I'm definitely going to gain more than they say you should. The
most amazing thing is it didn't go to my stomach. Nope it went to my
butt and things. My belly still isn't very big, which I'm thankful for
BUT I'm not so thankful for the lower region! My poor hubby has to put
up with my every changing moods. They've gotten a little better but I
half expected him to move out or send to my parents to live for a while.
I'd blow up and then feel horrible for snapping at him, don't get me
wrong he deserved some just like any other man :)
Now
onto the awesome things the come along with pregnancy. Boobs! Wow how I
love these. I'm dreading the fact that they will deflate and go away.
Something positive from weight gain I guess! The amazing fact that a
little human being is beginning to take shape and you are responsible
for it. Don't get me wrong. Sometimes this is completely over whelming
and scary but I try not to dwell on that to much. How about that
shopping? I've been holding off but I think I'm going to break down and
buy things now. I've ordered the diaper bag and the crib bedding so far
and have accumulated a long wish list of other things I went.
The
most amazing parts? Definitely hearing the heartbeat for the first
time. I may have had a "moment" that was between me
crying/hyperventilating at the doctor office. My hubby just rolled his
eyes and the midwife let me recover. The ultrasound ranks right up there
with the heartbeat. An entire 45 minutes of getting to peak at your
baby while the tech tells you everything she is looking at. It amazes me
how they can tell what everything is. My hubby was leaning forward the
entire time taking it all in. We made the decision not to find the sex
out before we went in and the baby was being quite modest with it's legs
up the entire time so it's a good thing we didn't want to know! We also
found out we have quite the little fist/thumb sucker. Baby "E" is also
very active. The tech decided it might be a good thing I can't quite
feel all the movements right now because I might not ever get any sleep!
I've been hearing horror stories of how "busy" my hubby was when he was
a kid, so I'm quite nervous about this!
Just
last week I started feeling the definite flutters from the baby. It
scared me a bit at first and then I got used to it and now I just enjoy
it. The hubby is waiting to feel it from the outside. He's so excited.
Every night he has to try and see if he can feel it. Just a few more
weeks and he will be able too!
